. While most Indian films now make it into the Rs 100 crore club, just a few make it into the Rs 300 crore club. Only 8 films have reached this milestone throughout their box office run too far. The following is a comprehensive list of all eight films which did a Bollywood collection of 300 crore.
PK(2014)
‘PK,’ starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, was the first Indian film to gross Rs 300 crore when it was released on December 19, 2014. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, grossed Rs 792 crore globally and Rs 340 crore in India, making it the year’s highest-grossing Indian film.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)
Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starred in the cross-border drama ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ The film, directed by Kabir Khan and produced on a budget of Rs 90 crores, was released on July 17, 2015, and grossed Rs 320 crore in India, making it the second-highest grosser behind Amir Khan’s ‘PK.’
Baahubali: The Conclusion( 2015)
S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is a medieval action film directed by him. Prabhas and Rana Daggubati appear in the film, which is a sequel to ‘Baahubali: The Beginning.’ The film is one of the highest-grossing in Indian cinema, as well as one of the most expensive to produce. The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 250 crores, grossed Rs 510 crores in India alone, making it the first Indian film to surpass the 1000 crore milestone.
Dangal (2017)
‘Dangal,’ a biopic based on the Phogat family, was another huge admission into the Rs 300 crore club for Amir Khan. Nitesh Tiwari directed the film, which was released on December 23, 2016. The film was a mega-hit, grossing Rs 387 crores in India on a budget of Rs 70 crores.
Tiger Zinda hai (2017)
‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ was a high-budget sequel to the 2012 film. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif featured in the film. The film was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and released on December 22, 2017. The Indian box office for the film was Rs 339 crore.
Padmaavat (2018)
Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor appear in the epic drama ‘Padmavat,’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It is one of the most costly films ever filmed in India, with a budget of Rs 215 crore. The film had a lot of controversy leading up to its release. It worked in its favor because it was able to earn Rs 302 crore at the box office. The film was released on January 25, 2018.
Sanju (2018)
Raj Kumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju,’ based on controversial actor Sanjay Dutt’s life, heralded Ranbir Kapoor’s entrance into the Rs 300 crore club. The film was released on June 29, 2018, and it shattered box office records, grossing Rs 342 crores.
War (2019)
‘War,’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, has been performing well at the box office since its debut. It was launched on October 2nd, 2019 as an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. In only 19 days after its release, the film surpassed the Rs 300 crore mark in the domestic market. The film grossed Rs 303 crores and more.
